BowSight is a specialized application designed for archers employing various sight systems. It aids users in making precise adjustments for shooting distances ranging from 5 to 99 meters, accommodating both uphill and downhill scenarios in competitions that feature known and unknown target distances, such as field or 3D competitions.

To utilize the app effectively, users need to calibrate it using three specific sight values across known distances. For optimal calibration, it is recommended that these distances cover the most frequently used range. For instance, if an archer typically shoots within 10 to 30 meters, they should calibrate using distances of 10, 20, and 30 meters. Similarly, for distances between 20 and 50 yards, the calibration should focus on 20, 30, and 40 yards. The application intelligently calculates all values between 5 and 99 meters/yards, even extending beyond the calibrated range.

For uphill and downhill adjustments, users can set the angle by aligning a crosshair located in the center of the screen with the target center. The system will then make the necessary adjustments automatically. The application accommodates different measurement units by offering a choice between meters and yards; however, since sight systems do not adhere to a uniform standard for units, only the numerical value is utilized.

It is crucial to note that BowSight serves exclusively as a tool to provide sight values. It does not control or shoot the bow. Therefore, if there are inconsistencies in shooting or inaccuracies in calibration values, the results on the target may not reflect true precision. Users should take the time to test their calibration values prior to entering them into the system, although adjustments can be made later.

When dealing with shorter distances, archers must be mindful of a "focal point" beyond which the sight may begin to elevate again.
